Lesson 2
Is Climate Change Happening?

What is climate change and how does climate relate to greenhouse gas concentrations over time?

Below hundreds of meters of ice in Antarctica, researchers have found an important key to understanding the Earth's changing climate. Ice cores contain clues about past concentrations of gases in our atmosphere, allowing scientists to interpret our climate history.

The information provided by paleoclimatology is vital in understanding the climate system. In this lesson, you will explore modern tools for understanding our historical climate, and you will learn about the importance of recent climate.
